Yeast Peptidomics Analysis
Peptidomics takes endogenous polypeptides and low molecular weight proteins as research objects, and studies the structure, function, change law and correlation of peptide groups. There is no clear boundary between polypeptides and proteins, and proteins with a molecular weight of less than 10 kDa are generally considered to be called polypeptides. Both peptidomics and proteomics are complementary to genomics. Polypeptides can reflect the synthesis, processing and degradation of proteins under different physiological and pathological conditions, also have regulatory effects on gene expression, material metabolism and other processes. Therefore, peptidomics is considered as a "bridge" linking proteomics and metabolomics.
The purpose of peptidomics analysis is not only to identify and validate all endogenous peptides in a biological sample, but also to compare the expression levels of target peptides in specific biochemical processes.
