Comparative Genome Sequencing and Analysis Service of Yeast
The comparative genomics of yeast is based on the yeast genome map and sequencing, to compare known genes and genome structure to understand the function, expression mechanism and species evolution of genes.
To understand the gene function, expression regulation mechanism and evolution process of yeast, the content analysis of two aspects of yeast comparative genome is generally carried out. (1) Paired genome comparisons with closely related yeasts. The coding sequence and structural homology between the two genomes can be used to locate genes in other genomes based on the mapping information of the known genomes, thereby revealing the potential functions of the genes and changes in the internal structure of the genome. (2) Multi-genome comparison with closely related yeast. When sequences are compared between two or more genomes, the evolutionary relationship of the sequences in the phylogenetic tree is essentially obtained. The increase of genomic information makes it possible to study molecular evolution and gene function at the genomic level. By studying the data of a variety of biological genomes and their vertical and horizontal evolution processes, it is possible to understand the structure and regulation of genes that are vital to life.
